Governance and strategy are two sides of the same coin.
We help boards and organisations see their governance challenges clearly, then build the systems, frameworks and capability to address them. Not as a compliance exercise. As a strategic advantage.
King V Code, 13 principles.
Our expertise cuts across all thirteen. We do not compartmentalise, we work with the whole picture, the way a board actually governs. IoDSA, South Africa, apply-and-explain.
Clients are not interested in what we do. They are interested in what they get.
Every governance engagement at Celagenix® starts the same way, with an honest attempt to understand the client's actual situation, not to fit them into a predefined service category.
Diagnostics first
Before we recommend anything, we need to understand what the board is trying to achieve, what is getting in the way, and what the organisation can actually implement. The response is assembled from across the Celagenix® ecosystem, advisory, evaluation, training and tools, in whatever combination addresses the specific need.
Not a list of service lines
A board asking for help with director induction may actually need a reserved-matters matrix, a composition assessment and a King V alignment review. A board asking for a strategy session may need a board effectiveness evaluation first. The entry point is rarely the whole picture. What clients want is clarity, confidence and capability.
Governance and strategy, one practice.
- Who decides what
- How decisions are made
- Who is accountable
- How risk is managed
- How the board is structured
- How compliance is maintained
- Where the organisation is going
- How it will get there
- What success looks like
- What trade-offs to make
- How to allocate resources
- How to create sustainable value
Strategy without governance is directionally reckless. Governance without strategy is operationally inert. Celagenix® sits at the intersection, which is where boards actually live.
Diagnostic. Holistic. Ecosystem-connected.
Every engagement follows the same four-step logic, regardless of the entry point.
Diagnose before prescribing
The presenting problem is rarely the whole problem. We invest time upfront, through conversation, assessment and the BoardEvaluator™ platform, to understand the full governance picture before recommending a course of action.
Discovery, BoardEvaluator™ assessment, board interviewsAssemble the right response
The response is not a standard template. It is assembled from across the ecosystem, senior advisory where the challenge requires it, training and tools where implementation requires it, and the BoardEvaluator™ platform where evidence is needed. The client experiences a single coherent engagement, not a set of separate services.
Advisory, Academy, Director's Toolkit, BoardEvaluator™80% ecosystem, 20% senior advisory
Most governance work does not require senior consulting hours. Training, tools, assessments and frameworks deliver 80% of what clients need through systems that scale. The 20% that genuinely requires senior advisory gets exactly that, at the level of expertise the challenge demands.
Scalable delivery, high-value advisory reserved for complex challengesStay connected through the cycle
Governance is annual. The BoardEvaluator™ cycle repeats each year, the Academy builds capability that compounds, and the tools improve how the board works between sessions. Our engagements are relationships that deepen as governance maturity develops, not projects with an end date.
Annual evaluation cycle, ongoing capability development80% handled by systems. 20% senior advisory.
Not a cost-cutting measure. A deliberate architectural decision that makes Celagenix® more effective for clients and more scalable as a group. When training, tools and assessments do the foundational work, the senior advisory capacity is freed for the challenges that genuinely require it.
Not thirteen service lines. One practice, many expressions.
These are the domains where Celagenix® has the deepest expertise and the most developed ecosystem infrastructure. They are expressions of the same governance practice, not separate offerings. Most engagements cut across several at once.

Advisory is where the engagement starts. The ecosystem is what makes it last.
Every Celagenix® consulting engagement connects outward, so recommendations have a practical home beyond the report. This is what we mean by governance infrastructure: not a report, not a course, not a platform. All of it, connected.

↗What boards and executives ask us.
How do we know where to start?
Most organisations start with whatever is most pressing, a new director who needs induction, an overdue board evaluation, a POPIA gap that has surfaced, an AI governance question the board cannot answer. The entry point matters less than the commitment to move. After a discovery conversation we will tell you honestly whether a BoardEvaluator™ evaluation is the right first step or whether something more specific is needed first.
Do you work with small boards and private companies, or only large listed entities?
Both, and the ecosystem model makes both commercially viable. Large listed entities and SOEs typically engage the full advisory capability alongside BoardEvaluator™ cycles and enterprise Academy access. Smaller private and family businesses often start with specific toolkit tools, a self-service assessment or an Academy module, and engage senior advisory for specific challenges. The 80% ecosystem handles a great deal without requiring consulting hours.
How is Celagenix® different from a traditional governance consultancy?
The ecosystem. A traditional consultancy produces reports and recommendations. Celagenix® produces reports and recommendations, then has the platform, the training system and the practical tools to make implementation possible, all connected, with the advisory staying coherent across it. After more than a decade of real engagements across 17 countries, we also have the depth of practice to back the advice, not just a framework document and a methodology slide deck.
Our board is in a different country. Can you still help?
Yes. Celagenix® operates across 17 countries with offices in Sandton and Gaborone and satellite capacity in Namibia, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the United States. The BoardEvaluator™ platform is accessible anywhere and the Academy is geographically unlimited. Senior advisory is conducted in person or remotely depending on the work. Toolkit tools are built per jurisdiction, with South Africa and Namibia editions complete and more in development.
What does an engagement typically cost?
The ecosystem entry points, the POPIA assessment, the AI Governance checklist, individual Academy modules and self-service BoardEvaluator™ packages, are priced transparently and available without a consulting engagement. Senior advisory is priced on a project basis following a discovery conversation. We would rather tell you what something costs at the start than derail a useful engagement with a surprise invoice later.
Ready to make governance work harder for your organisation?
The right starting point depends on your situation. Tell us where you are, and we will tell you what makes sense next.
